Der Kurs vermittelt die Grundlagen von Contact Improvisation mit Empathie, Spaß und Respekt. Wir lernen die Basics des Contact Impro kennen und entdecken, wie wir unsere Körper und eigenen Fähigkeiten einbringen können. Grundlage ist dabei der Respekt für die eigenen Grenzen und die der anderen. Wir üben konsensbasierte Kommunikation und finden heraus, wie wir sie im Tanz und in der Improvisation anwenden können.
Was erwartet dich?
Die Bausteine des Kurses beginnen immer mit einem Zusammenkommen in der Gruppe und dem Aufwärmen des Körpers. Sie werden mit Übungen und Spielen vermittelt und umfassen folgende Themen:
- Kommunikation und Respekt im gemeinsamen Tanz
- Körperwahrnehmung und Koordination
- Gewicht teilen und Rollen
- Führen, Folgen und kreativer Flow
- Heben und Fliegen
- Komposition und Gemeinschaft im Tanz
Die Bausteine überlappen sich regelmäßig und orientieren sich daran, was die Gruppe gerade braucht und wo ihr Lernfeld liegt.
Eingeladen sind alle Menschen ohne oder mit wenig Erfahrung in Contact Improvisation. Da jede Person mit unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten, Geschichten und Bedürfnissen in den Kurs kommt, wird dies berücksichtigt. Es wird Raum für Pausen geben, und es besteht immer die Möglichkeit, Übungen oder Spiele aus der Beobachtung mitzumachen. Contact Impro kann körperlich und emotional etwas Neues oder Herausforderndes sein. Als Gruppe nehmen wir uns die Zeit, dies zu integrieren.
Wir starten den Kurs als feste Gruppe, die über 12 Termine hinweg gemeinsam lernt, sowohl sicher als auch mutig miteinander zu sein.
Deshalb gibt es zwei Schnupperkurse bzw. Probestunden am 28.10.2026 und am 04.11.2026 (je 10 Euro). Nach einer Probestunde ist nur noch eine verbindliche Teilnahme möglich.
Wenn die Kosten für dich ein Problem darstellen, schreib mir gerne. In jeder Kursrunde versuche ich, nach Möglichkeit einen Soli-Platz anzubieten.
Danach Jam: Wenn du nach dem Kurs weiter tanzen möchtest, kannst du das bei der Jam tun. Im Anschluss gibt es immer eine offene Jam, und die Sauna ist ebenfalls geöffnet.
Wann: Der Kurs findet vom 04.11.2026 bis zum 03.02.2027 statt (mit Ferienpause).

Über Emka:
Emka (dey/-) lebt und tanzt in Leipzig und ist tief verbunden mit der Contact Improvisation Community. Seit 2007 organisiert Emka Festivals – darunter das CI Festival Leipzig –, gibt CI-Workshops und veranstaltet regelmäßige Jams. Emkas Tanzpraxis wurde auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals geteilt und verfeinert.

This course introduces the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation with empathy, fun, and respect. We will explore the basics of Contact Impro and discover how to bring our bodies and individual abilities into the practice. The foundation is respect for our own boundaries and those of others. We will practise consent-based communication and explore how to apply it in dance and improvisation.
What can you expect?
Each course module begins with coming together as a group and warming up the body. The modules are taught through exercises and games and include the following themes:
- Communication and respect in dancing together
- Body awareness and coordination
- Sharing weight and rolling
- Leading, following, and creative flow
- Lifting and flying
- Composition and community in dance
The modules regularly overlap and respond to what the group currently needs and where its learning edge lies.
Everyone with no or little experience in Contact Improvisation is welcome. Since each person enters the course with different paces, histories, and needs, these will be taken into account. There will be space for breaks, and it will always be possible to participate in exercises or games through observation. Contact Impro can be physically and emotionally new or challenging. As a group, we will take the time to integrate these experiences.
We will begin the course as a fixed group that learns together over 12 sessions, aiming to be both safe and courageous with one another.
Therefore, there will be two taster sessions or trial classes on 28 October 2026 and 4 November 2026 (cost 10 Euro each). After attending a trial class, participation is only possible as a commitment to the full course.

Jam afterwards: If you would like to keep dancing after the class, you can join the jam. Afterwards, there is always an open jam, and the sauna is also open.
